Mr. Gubin is a graduate of the University of Maryland Law School. He opened his private practice in Fairfax in 2002. His practice is now almost exclusively in the domestic relations field, involving divorce, property settlement agreements, child custody and visitation, and pre-nuptial agreements, etc. He practices mostly before the Fairfax Circuit court, but also in Prince William and Loudoun Circuit courts. He was formerly the Chief Counsel for the United States Mint, a Senior Executive (SES) position he held for 20 years. As such, he was responsible for the legal affairs of that Government agency and its $400 million a year numismatic business. Prior to that, Mr. Gubin headed the U.S. Customs Service's legal division in charge of Federal employment law and financial claims, and handled the prosecution and defense of many administrative hearings.
